AMALIA PRIEGO

Amalia es Gerente de Servicios de Promoción de la Salud de Santa Bárbara Neighborhood Clinics y ha trabajado en SBNC por más de 12 años. Obtuvo una licenciatura en Contabilidad y trabajo en Bancomer en Villahermosa, Tabasco, México antes de mudarse a los Estados Unidos en 1990. Amalia siempre ha sentido pasión por ayudar a los que lo necesitan. Ha participado en varias colaboraciones dentro de la comunidad latina incluyendo su participación con Santa Barbara Police Department Community Academy, recaudación de fondos para la Casa de la Raza y su trabajo con Radio Bronco. Antes de ser parte íntegra de SBNC, Amalia hacía trabajo voluntario para ellos. Desde ese entonces, ha colaborado con diferentes organizaciones en toda la comunidad latina y en 2016, su importante aporte fue reconocido por Latino Costa Central News Press quien la nombró Líder de la Comunidad Latina. Ella ha puesto en alto las necesidades de la comunidad latina en áreas como vivienda, inmigracion y atención médica, entre muchas otras. También es miembro de la Junta Directiva del Cancer Foundation.

Amalia is the Health Promotion Services Manager with Santa Barbara Neighborhood Clinics and has been with SBNC for over 12 years. She received a degree in Accounting and then began working with Bancomer in Villahermosa, Tabasco, Mexico before moving to the United States in 1990. Amalia has always had a passion for helping out those in need. She has participated in various collaborations within the community such as the Santa Barbara Police Department Community Academy, fundraising with Casa de la Raza and working with Radio Bronco. Amalia began as a volunteer with SBN and immediately became a great asset to the organization. Since then she has continued to collaborate with different organizations throughout the Latino community and her important role was recognized in 2016 by the Latino Costa Central News Press when she was named a Latino Community Leader. She has brought attention to those in need of assistance in areas such as housing, immigration, and health care among many others. She is also a member of the Cancer Foundation Board of Trustees.
