MARCO QUINTANAR
Marco ha trabajado para Family Service Agency/Agencia de Servicios para la Familia durante los últimos 10 años y actualmente es el Supervisor de Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program of Santa Barbara County. Nació y se crió en la Ciudad de México. Tiene una licenciatura en Periodismo y Comunicaciones de la Universidad de México (UNAM). Ha vivido en Santa Bárbara durante los últimos 30 años y ha trabajado en diferentes puestos dentro del área de la salud. A Marco le apasiona ayudar a los demás, especialmente a los ancianos. En 2011, Marco recibió el Premio al Esfuerzo Intergeneracional del Año durante el Te de Celebración Anual, organizado por Area Agency on Aging. En 2016 fue el ganador en el concurso Nuestros Héroes para Univision. Marco ha sido voluntario en varias organizaciones, incluyendo Santa Barbara Response Network, Listos y LEON (Latino Elder Outreach Network). Marco ha sido presidente de LEON durante los últimos 6 años y tuvo la visión de Dia De Los Abuelos, que celebra su séptimo aniversario este año. Marco tiene cuatro hijos. Le gusta la música, las computadoras y películas y le gusta pasar tiempo con su familia.
Marco has worked for Family Service Agency for the past 10 years and currently he is the Program Supervisor for the Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program of Santa Barbara County was born and raised in Mexico City. He has a B.A. in Journalism and Communications from the University of Mexico (UNAM) and has lived in Santa Barbara for the past 30 years where he has worked in different job positions related to the health field. Marco has a passion to help others, especially the senior community. In 2011 Marco received the Intergenerational Effort of the Year Award during the Annual Celebration Tea organized by the Area Agency on Aging and in 2016 he was the winner at the Nuestros Heroes (Our Heroes) contest for Univision. He has been a volunteer in several organizations including Santa Barbara Response Network, Listos and LEON (Latino Elder Outreach Network). Marco has been the president of LEON for the past 6 years and had the vision of Dia De Los Abuelos, which is celebrating its 7th anniversary this year. Marco has four children. He likes music, computers and movies and enjoys being with his family.
